Here are some useful "current-but-not-quite-as-current" events of note. Enjoy!

  • Have you heard of "Christmas Crackers"? They're a type of party favor enjoyed by folks in the UK, Canada, and Australia. Super fun to make! I've posted some instructions and a template on my website in case you're interested. Merry Christmas!

  • Just a quick note: I've had a number of new clients this year with portfolio creation issues. It's frustrating for everyone when we know that there's been learning but the student's portfolio is inadequate or nonexistent. In order to facilitate a more positive experience, I've added some thoughts on minimal expectations, as well as some creative evaluation ideas. Unfortunately, there's also a new "appointment fee" for folks whose portfolios are simply unevaluateable.

  • Do you have a "horse crazy" kid? I found a copy of 50 Careers With Horses at our local library sale... and it's free to the first parent who emails me about it. I'll even pick up shipping, at least to the "lower 48" or APO/FPO Box. It's not super up-to-date, but this is a great book for encouraging a young person who might be searching for their vocation.
