 A friend of mine recently recommended Eileen Horner, and another uses Marijo Varney in Keene. Christian Home Educators of New Hampshire also has a short list on their new website... New Hampshire Homeschooling Coalition has a more extensive list of evaluators to choose from. Some schools have specifically designated evaluators on staff. Be clear on what they expect at the end of the year before using them as your participating agency. Some school districts provide local teachers as home education evaluators. Fall Mountain uses Carol Bennet, principal of Vilas School, as their Home Education Evaluator. For privacy reasons, HSLDA recommends the use of a private institution as a participating agency for New Hampshire homeschoolers. I've always gone through the local district but I've heard very good things about Tri-City Christian Academy in Somersworth, and Grace Christian School, out of Bedford, seems nice. Remember that the choice is yours… make sure you are comfortable with whomever you choose and that you leave time before July 31st to re-do your evaluation if things don’t go well. |
